The name Chester Noralez has been making crime news since the mid 90’s when he was a teenager, and tonight he’s back in the news.  The 36 year old resident of Fern Lane is accused of snatching a gold chain from Franz Usher’s neck.  Yesterday Usher was at the corner of Jasmine and Oleander Streets when Noralez rode up, ripped his gold chain from around his neck and rode off. Police who were in the area pursued Noralez and apprehended him on Oleander street with the stolen chain. 

When he appeared today before Magistrate Deborah Rogers. Noralez pled not guilty to the charge. The prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that Noralez has a charge of burglary for which trial is pending and he also knows the victim and there is the strong possibility that he will interfere with him if granted bail. Magistrate Rogers upheld the objection and denied Noralez bail. She remanded him into custody until August 31.

In December of 2015 Noralez was accused of beating his 93 year old neighbor Patrick Grant and burglarizing his home.
