Would Government Accede To International Investigator?
posted (August 1, 2016)
With all the uproar over William "Danny" Mason and all those in high places he befriended, or compromised - there's been some clamoring for an international, impartial investigation - since Mason made so many friends in the police department and in politics. Today the Prime Minister bristled when this was suggested to him:...

Reporter
"Your rationale behind at this point in time not accepting an international investigation impartial."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"Mr. Wade, when did I say I would not accept an international investigation?"

Reporter
"If you listen carefully to my question, I did not say you did not accept it."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"But your premise is wrong. You just said that."

Reporter
"At the point you did the interview, you said that you were not as yet willing..."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"I said I did not see any necessity for that. I would not close the door on it I recollect saying, but I did not see any necessity. Don't twist my words man. I am careful in what I say. Because I try to be accurate and I try to be honest sir."

Reporter
"Through the last press conference we had on Friday to where we are today, do you maintain the same position that you still do not see the need for an international investigation. I understand that the US Embassy may be saying they stand awaiting any interest."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"They did not said that to me."

Reporter
"So at this point in time, has there been any change?"

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"I will tell you exactly what I said, I will repeat what I said on Friday. I do not see that there is a need for that."
