There are persistent reports that a present government CEO and former director of immigration was sent back from the United States over the weekend. Reports say that former Director of Immigration Ruth Meighan's visa was revoked and she was sent back by US Immigration when she travelled to the United States. Meighan is currently the CEO in the Ministry of Transport and NEMO. The Prime Minister today told the media he had heard the same.
"There is a very senior CEO who was turned back by the US, I believe it was at Houston, might have been within the past couple days. Have you been informed about it and have you been able to find out any reason why?"
Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"I have heard and no official information has come to me. I have heard that the CEO was turned back, I don't know the reason for it."
Despite efforts to call and text, we could not reach Meighan for comment.
Meighan was Director of Immigration until February of 2013. Her signature appeared on passports for years thereafter.
