ACP Williams Welcomes Hulse
posted (August 3, 2016)

And while Hulse embraces his new challenge, how does the police top brass feel.  Surely, Minister John Saldivar had those cops who were in his corner – after being in the job since 2012. And perhaps that is why the Prime Minister said the Ministry may have needed a new face. ACP Chester Williams seems to have felt the same way…

ACP Chester Williams, O. C. Eastern South
"I do believe that with Mr. Hulse as the minister of police we'll see some positive change within the police department. I personally I embrace him as our new minister and we'll do what needs to be done be able to ensure that whatever changes he may want that it goes to fruition. I do agree with what the prime minister said in terms of the police as the primary law enforcement agency in the country needs to assure the citizens of citizen security so we are a department need to take a look at what we're doing and see how we can enhance what we have been doing as a department."

Jules Vasquez
"The prime minister additionally mentioned that he felt perhaps a change is needed in the police department; was needed the ministerial level. How do you feel about those remarks; obviously it is both the minister and the prime minister were aware of some chemistry issue between the commanders in the eastern division; they both mentioned it when they spoke."

ACP Chester Williams, O. C. Eastern South
"Well I don't know about any conflict that may exist between us as commanders."

Jules Vasquez
"Do you agree with the prime minister that perhaps a change was needed to refresh the approach to leading the police department?"

ACP Chester Williams, O. C. Eastern South
"Well the prime minister has his views and I agree with what the prime minister said. I think that yes it is good to have a fresh face at the ministerial level and we welcome Mr. Hulse. He from what I know is a person of integrity; he is a person who believes in getting things done and getting it done the right way. So I look forward to whatever changes he may want to make in the police department to make us function better. I think that's what we need; we need to become more efficient in how we discharge our functions."

Jules Vasquez
"Mr. Hulse is famous for he no do favours for nobody. Will that perhaps be an advantage for the police department?"

ACP Chester Williams, O. C. Eastern South
"Well I cannot say how Mr. Saldivar used to operate because from my standpoint he has never called me and asked me to do this or do that for anybody. If that did occur it would be above my level. Like I said I embrace Mr. Hulse coming to be our minister and I look forward to working with him for the betterment of our organisation."
