Broaster Rejects Any Connection To Mason
posted (August 9, 2016)
And while that's what Broaster said last week, today Broaster called a press conference just to make it clear that Mason had no reason to call his name. Here's how he put it. Here's what he said this afternoon:...

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"Danny Mason and I had no informal nor formal communication. I had no messenger as it pertains to any donation what have you. Like I said, I think it was a week ago when I briefed the media. 3 weeks prior to the death of the pastor I received a message through Mr. Chan from Danny Mason wanting to meet and I refused to meet with him and I never met with him and I have never solicited any donations whatsoever from Mr. Mason through any individual."

"There has been no communication between myself and Danny Mason."

Reporter
"Is there any indication as to why he wanted to meet with you at this time?"

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"As far as what I was told Mr. Chan was telling me that he wanted to donate some cycles and so on to their precinct and so on and I had no intention of accepting any donation from Mr. Mason."

In today's press conference and one week ago, Broaster said he first became aware of Mason's shady background in 2013 - and kept his distance since then. Btu why didn't he spread the word? Because if he had, perhaps Mason would not have gone as far as he did in infiltrating the highest echelons of politics and law enforcement. That's what we asked him today:..

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"The only reason why that information was not passed on a wide scale is because there was no warrant for Mr. Mason's arrest. There was this website bashing him to say that he swindled them out of their savings and their retirement and what have you. But there has been no criminal complaint or warrant issued for his arrest at that time when I did the search and found out what I found out."

Reporter
"Did you regret not having pass any information, looking at how it has resulted?"

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"Like I said to you all before, I told my colleagues that work with me immediately at that time and I had told the commissioner at that time, because I knew that he was trying to build influence at that time and I saw certain things happening that I will not disclose at this time why that was done."

Reporter
"So you knew more of him than you are actually letting us know?"

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"No, I'm not saying that."

Jules Vasquez
"But isn't you slogan "see something, say something, stop something"? You could have stop something...."

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"That was a good one Jules, but I did say something. Like I said I did say something to my immediate colleagues."

We have learned that Mason's wife, Melissa Ferguson did apply for a gun license in the Belize Rural area but her application was rejected because of her connection to the dubious Mason.

For context, Broaster is the officer in charge for the Rural Easter Division - which is the area where Mason had his mile 31 pig farm - the same farm where Pastor Llewellyn Lucas was killed. So why did Mason choose to call Broaster's name in his brief conversation with a reporter?
