Luis Carter Charge Upgraded To Murder
posted (August 9, 2016)
Four weeks ago, we told you about 23 year old Luis "Wizz" Carter, the San Pedrano accused of shooting his one time association Dwayne Hyde.

Well Hyde died from those injuries last week, and, tonight, Carter's charge has been upgraded to murder.

Carter went to the Supreme Court today to apply for bail for attempted murder but that had to be withdrawn when Prosecutor for the DPP, Rene Montero Jr informed the court that he spoke with the arresting officer who had already served Carter with his new upgraded charge sheet from attempted murder to murder.

Carter's attorney, Anthony Sylvester wasn't so sure and was hesitant to withdraw his application. But presiding Justice John Gonzalez told him that he does not believe the prosecutor would try to deceive the court with false information and with that Sylvester relented, and the application for bail was not heard.

Hyde was shot to the abdomen on Wednesday, July 13, at around 12:30 a.m. by one of three men who forcefully entered his yard and home. His wife was also assaulted. He died from those injuries on July 30th at the KHMH.
