There's one more minister of state in a very crowded cabinet room. Senator Dr. Carla Barnett was sworn-in by the Governor General H.E. Sir Colville Young today. She now assumes responsibility as Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Ministry of Finance.
The Prime Minister has said hse was brought in specifically to identify and secure relief funding for Belize in the wake of Hurricane Earl.
We counted five ministers and ministers of state at her swearing in. Dr. Barnett has served as the Deputy Secretary General of Caricom and the Vice President of the CDB.
