Mason, Says More From Behind Prison Walls
posted (August 11, 2016)
So, Mason has a second set of charges to answer to, but, he has been giving plenty of answers to the press via telephone from behind prison bars.

For the past 2 days, we've featured parts of the phone conversation which he had with the Amandala. Well tonight, courtesy our colleagues from Love News, we can share more comments from William Mason.

This time he spoke to reporter Renee Trujillo, and directly takes on the discovery of the head of Pastor Llewelyn Lucas, which police say was in his vehicle. That was on Friday, July 15th, and though, we've never heard his side of the story, his attorney, Herbert Panton, was confident that the police's evidence was not as airtight as they were asserting to the public.

Here he is explaining his time at the bar, and how the police allegedly did not search his car in his presence:

Renee Trujillo - Love News
"Could we go back to the night of July 15. What were you doing at the bar? And, how did that night unfold with the officers?"

William Mason - Speaking from Prison
"I got invited to go to the bar by a gentleman by the name of Jesus Castillo. And, Ah, I ended up going to that bar with my staff. And, it's a normal thing, you know. I mean, I hadn't seen him for a while; he hadn't seen me for a while. I stopped by the bar, and police came and started hassling everybody. I was sitting down, and I couldn't see anything. I got up and asked, 'What seems to be the issue?' I didn't understand anything, the point where they wanted to search my car. I asked them if they had a search warrant, and they said, 'We want to search your car.' I go, wow, wow, wow, it seems like I'm targeted here for something.' When I went back to [get] my keys, my keys weren't on the table. Someone took my keys, and there were a lot of people at the bar. They whole place was packed with a lot of cars. A lot of SPU's, a lot of police, a lot of people came in... I didn't have a clue about what was going on, me and my guys."

Renee Trujillo - Love News
"So, were you present when they claimed that they found that bucket [with the head] in your vehicle? Were you around when they searched your vehicle?"

William Mason
"I was very distant from that area. What happened is that they arrested all my guys, and they took my guys to the police station. And then, they took me to my house to get the [spare] keys for my car, a second back up key, because we couldn't find the other keys. So, when I went to the house, my wife came down with the keys, with the spare, and then we came back. So, we were not present at the car at the time they found what they said they found."

So, as you heard, he's suggesting that someone stole his keys from the bar where he left it. He also claims that he had to go home for a spare and when he returned the cops had already broken into his vehicle, claiming that they had found the bucket with Pastor Lucas's head inside. He maintains that the cops are framing him, and by his account, he is suggesting that between the time he went home for the spare keys and the time he got back, the police had ample time to plant Pastor Lucas's head.

That must have been more or less what his attorney, Herbert Panton, was referring to when he confidently asserted that the police aren't as thorough in this case as they claim. Here he is making the point back on July 22:

Herbert Panton - Attorney for the Defence

"All I will say is that from the very first press conference that the police top brass has had they have whipped this nation up into a frenzy and it is a frenzy with unrealistic expectations. I don't know what they have in their possession upon disclosure date I will get that information but they very well know that they continue to throw these piece meal information how they prejudice their own case."
