Police Charge “Eggy”
posted (August 12, 2016)
So, while Eastern Division South cops investigate the murder of Jason Young, and the shooting of Cameron Moreira, Rural Cops say that they are wrapping up their investigation into a murder which happened before Hurricane Earl.

That's the killing of 32 year-old John Williams, the Ladyville resident who was murdered inside his home in the "Japan" area on August second. Police have found their main suspect, 28 year-old Egbert Baldwin, aka "Eggy", a man very well known to investigators.

He will be charged with murder shortly - adding to existing charges for attempted murder and armed robbery.

On last week Tuesday night, just before midnight, John Williams was inside his home across from the "Japan" basketball court. His girlfriend had only just left to run an errand, and according to residents, he opened his door after hearing someone knocking. That's when a gunman opened fire on him with what is believed to be a homemade gun, capable of firing 9mm rounds. He was shot to the forehead, and he died inside his home right where he had fallen.

Police expressed frustration that Baldwin was out on bail, while facing charges for attempted murder, and armed robbery. This is the third major charge that they are laying on him in just a few months.
