AIDs Commission Says Judgment Will Result In Fewer HIV Infections For MSM Population
posted (August 12, 2016)
Last night, we told you how the Evangelical group of churches expressed their disappointment that the Chief Justice has legalized gay sex. Well, the National Aids Commission (NAC), has declared its support for the judgement.

As press release from NAC says that it, quote, "recognizes the tireless work of Mr. Caleb Orozco, UNIBAM, and the legal team lead by...Lisa Shoman and Westmin James... (U-RAP) and other... members of the LGBT Community." End Quote.

They agree with the judge, that the old Section 53, before it was amended by the Chief Justice, criminalized men for their sexual conduct, and the law breached their right to human dignity.

The commission noted that criminalization of gay sex contributes to higher HIV prevalence.

Concluding its statement, the Commission says, "This judgement will play a significant role for the NAC in (achieving) its national targets on HIV/AIDS…reduction."
