More blood soaks the gravel in front of Pasadita Bar in Spanish Lookout. Ever Miranda was shot and chopped in a fight early yesterday morning, but it didn't start here.

"Our initial investigation revealed that that the victim was socializing with some friends and family members at a bar situated in Unitedville, Cayo District and sometime after midnight the victim was engaged in a heated argument with another patron over some derogative remarks the accused said to a female relative of the deceased, which subsequently resulted in a physical confrontation between the victim and the bar patron. Mr. Mirada, the deceased then left for La Pasadita Bar in the company of his family and friends where the same individual he had the confrontation with followed them to La Pasadita Bar and allegedly fired a shot at him and another male individual allegedly inflicted the chop wounds to the said victim."

Miranda's attackers then sped off but the police quickly caught up with them and found the gun and the machete used in the assault.

"Our Quick Response Team intercepted them as they were heading into Santa Elena Town. I want to publicly thank my personal specifically my Special Branch personnel Corporal Young, my CIB personnel headed by Sergeant McCullouch, my Special Assignment Unit, my QRT team, my deputy. The moment I called them at 3:15am they were out there with me gathering the necessary evidential material and even though they were fatigue, they pushed on until they recovered both murder weapon and gather enough evidential material."

While police say they have sufficient evidence to charge Miranda's two attackers, they also have to go further to implement stricter liquor licensing regulations.

That is because this is the second murder that has happened at the bar. 3 months ago in May, Jose Estrada was shot and killed in sort of a Wild West Shootout at La Pasadita.

"We are still working with the Liquor Licensing Board to see how best we could address those situations that are happening at the bar. We recently advised the liquor establishment that we have given them a time period because we will implement the intoxicating liquor license amendment act #4 of 2006, where it states that all publican special and nightclub must have security guard. So we have given them enough time before we implement the act."

"Because this is the second murder that happens at this same bar. So for right now they don't have anything implemented at the bar? It's just a free open bar."

"There is no security guard and we have warned them already and we gave them the notice of when the last incident happened that they must comply with the amendment act of #4 of 2006 of the intoxicating liquor license act."

But the strange thing is that both men who were killed at the bar are related and the family says it is too late to implement any regulations now because two of their loved ones are gone

"How do you guys deal with this loss? This is the second family member you all are losing at the same bar who was murdered at the same bar?"

"I have nothing to do, just wait and be patient and God knows what he will do. Nothing else I could say."

Police just informed us that Gladimir Bartolo Shish and Carlos Antonio Rodriguez Mendendez have been charged for murder.

Miranda was the father of a 3-year-old girl. Police have 4 persons detained and plan on charging the 2 men who shot and chopped Miranda.
