PM Says Faber’s Stewardship Of Gov’t Asset Not Optimal
posted (August 17, 2016)

And while we got no comment form the police, we did get one from Faber’s boss today.  Here’s what the Prime Minister said:…

Jules Vasquez
"Sir with the admitted that he left the key with a friend, that the friend subsequently left the key in the vehicle; is that optimal stewardship of public assets? A very expensive asset as well."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow - Prime Minister
"I think you put that question to him and he confessed that it wasn't."

Jules Vasquez
"You're his boss should he..."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow - Prime Minister
"Who am I to disagree with that?"

Jules Vasquez
"No but you're his boss so then he will need another vehicle or he may; you know Land Cruisers can go in the sea and still work, I think your one has the same experience under very different circumstances but I'm saying that should he need a new Prado would the government put its money towards that being as he led to perhaps the downfall of his previous one?"

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow - Prime Minister
"But lord the circumstances he described to me did not quite amount to giving his friend the key and saying you can go drive the vehicle. So without getting into the details of what he told me; while this is unfortunate I don't know that the blame goes beyond what he conceded to you. It was not optimal stewardship of government's resources but I don't know that it is such as would entitle me to say no you will buy back your own vehicle; I don't think so."
