Noah from Jamaica Live At the Bliss
posted (October 28, 2016)
We all know the biblical story of Noah's Ark. Well, the Jamaican playwright Patrick Brown adds a comedic twist to it in his play called "Ras Noah and the Hawk." And the Rotary Club of Belize is performing it tonight at the Bliss. It's the second showing and Rotarian Sandra McKay told us why everyone should come out to see it.

Sandra Mckay, Rotarian
"Ras Noah and the Hawk, if you can sort of read between that, is the Noah and the Ark story but Patrick plays it into a Jamaican setting and turns him into a Rasta and so that is Noah and therefore, the story unfolds with Noah growing up and you are going to see some of the things that happen in our societies that are not uncommon to any other society with a child growing up and the village raising the child and how he turns out or not and their reaction or lack thereof."

"It is a musical comedy with a moral message, so you will see singing, you will see dancing it will be a whole lot of fun."

"Every play we have done so far for the Rotary club of Belize, you always walk away with a positive message, whereas the story lines may differ, it is always going to give you situations  people go through and we can look into our daily lives or our family and community and we will see those situations, the choice is yours, are you going to respond positively to it or are you going to respond negatively, so you would walk away with you have a choice, maybe there is a different way, maybe there is a better way."

The show started at 7:00 sharp tonight at the Bliss . Tomorrow is the final night. You can buy tickets at the Bliss or Karl H Menzies.
