Cop Detained For Murder Of City Man
posted (November 2, 2016)

Tonight, a police officer is detained for questioning in the murder of 25 year old Belize City resident Jeon Peebles.  Peebles family claims that he was last seen with two police officers who took him the night before he was found executed – quite a distance from home - on the Boom-Hattieville road.  Today Southside Commander Chester Williams confirmed that one officer is being investigated:…

ACP Chester Williams - OC, Eastern Division South
"Yes we have one officer in custody who we believe was one of the officers who picked him up. That information though is yet to be confirmed and the allegation that you're saying that information is that two officers did pick him we have received that as well and that is the basis on which the officer has been detained and Mr. Cowo as I said who is assisting the rural with investigation has been busy interviewing that officer and other officers who were working that night to be able to ascertain if in fact the officer or any other officer is involved in the detention and subsequent death of Mr. Peebles."

Peebles was the father of one child – and was known to be from the Backatown area.
