One final topic we grilled the Minister on was reports we had been receiving that his brother and sister have also gotten some of those sweet land compensation deals which we've been showing you. You'll remember them as the ones where land titles are sold for cheap, and then the Government buys them back exponential profits, all at the expense of the taxpayers.
Our reports suggest that Montero's brother and sister each got a 250 thousand dollar pay out, and so we asked him about IT today. Here's how that back-and-forth went:

"We've also heard tell that persons within your family and yourself supposedly got compensation for properties and at very huge profit margins. Jaime Montero, your brother, supposedly $250,000 for land on Northern Ambergris Caye. Was there any such deal in which your brother benefitted?"

"I don't know, you would have to ask my brother. I can answer for myself, but I cannot speak for my brother."

"For you, we are told that you received a compensation of $400,000 for 10 acres of land on Northern Ambergris Caye."

"That horse has been flag since 1998. Janelle Chanona did a whole document on that. In 1998 I was not even a politician then. So what is wrong with that? If I acquire land and government acquires it, government has a right to compensate me. But that ship has been flagged so many times. Every single election this comes. So what is the problem?"
