Bert Vasquez Will Stand Trial For Forcible Abduction Of Teenager
posted (November 3, 2016)
Alleged girl killer Bert Vasquez has been on remand since 2012 - and he could go to trial next month not for murder, but for forcible abduction and harm upon a 16 year old girl - which is alleged to have happened over 5 years ago in May of 2011.

The minor, who was 16 at the time, says that Vasquez forced her into his vehicle at the Pound Yard Bridge in Belize City, and took her to an area in the Vista Del Mar area where he pistol whipped him with what appeared to be a gun causing an injury to her nose.

Today the case went before Justice Adolph Lucas for case management where Lucas heard from prosecutor, Janelle Tillett and Vasquez's attorney in the case management, Christelle Wilson. At the end of that session, Vasquez's trial was tentatively set for December 9, 2016 - which is five weeks away.

Bert Vasquez remains on remand for a murder of Jasmine Lowe, a school girl with the Scouts Association who was murdered in 2012 in the Cayo area. Oscar Selgado is his attorney in that trial.
