Last week, Courtney Weatherburne brought you the story of the K9 Unit, a team of highly trained dogs and their cop companions. The K-9 Unit specializes in using their noses to track down guns, people and drugs. Today, the unit helped the South Side Strike Team in tracking down 8 ounces of marijuana.

Both police units conducted a search at the Almendarez residence in Belize City where they found two black plastic bags containing marijuana hidden in the shrubs behind the house. Police then arrested, Tasha, Karen, Shaquawn and Darnell Almendarez along with Trecia Benguche and a 16 year old minor. All were charged for drug trafficking.
