Late last night an off duty cop was stabbed in the back while intervening in a domestic dispute. PC Raul Juchim was visiting a family friend when two men showed up looking for the family's daughter. After they were denied entry into the home, the daughter went out into the street after them, and her mother followed. When the altercation began to get rough, Juchim intervened and that's when he was stabbed. We heard more about what happened from Southside Police Commander Chester Williams and an eye witness to the dispute.

"Police Constable Juchim, who is attached to precinct 2 was socializing in Ordonez Street in the St. Martin's De Porres area when there was a domestic dispute within the area where he was socializing, not involving him. He intervene in the domestic dispute during which the male person who was a part of that dispute inflicted a small stab wound on the police constable. He was taken to the hospital where we was treated and release. The injury sustained is minor, not life threatening, he is currently at home recovering."

"Well I was standing up on my step when I saw a young lady and her mom coming out of the house and the mom was chasing after the daughter. Because the daughter was running after he boyfriend. The mom held the daughter and the daughter was holding the boyfriend and the police officer came. And then he ran after them, and they had a little scuffle, and I came on the street to go try and assist them. When the police officer came back from where they were having the scuffle, I saw him bleeding from his back. So I took off his shirt and used the undershirt he had on, I took it off and put pressure on the stab wound because it was bleeding. From then I called for the police and they came, and the ambulance came after that. They checked him and carried him in the ambulance to the hospital."

"Well, apparently the daughter wanted to go with the boyfriend, but the mother didn't want her to go. So, she ran after the boyfriend and the mom went to hold her so she wouldn't go with him. And that's how the police got involved, and I guess that's how he ended up getting stabbed."
