Courtenay Wants Police To Investigate Carmelita
posted (December 15, 2016)
After the meeting, Courtenay called for a criminal investigation into the land transactions which resulted in 50 adjoining properties ending up within the hands of the Minister's family:...

Hon. Eamon Courtenay, PUP Senator
"First of all there must be an investigation by the police to determine, with the advice of the director of public prosecutions whether any criminal offence has been committed and it appears quite clear that criminal offences were committed and secondly, it seems to me based on the same CCJ case that a claim brought by the attorney general for malfeasants in public office needs to be brought against the Honorable Gaspar Vega,"

"Do you expect that the government would go after him as you're calling?"

Hon. Eamon Courtenay, PUP Senator
"I expect that the government is going to go after him as I said and that's why I brought it up on the adjournment in the context of the convention. They are the ones who said they are committed to the convention against corruption. They are the ones who have now appointed the integrity commission. Is Minister Vega going to file his returns? Is he going to file his returns going back 3-4-5-6 years? Because remember, family members are also included."
