Chester Says He’ll Re-Arrest the Other Chester
posted (December 21, 2016)

Last night we told you about Chester Norales – the 36 year old accused of beating and robbing his 93 year old neighbour Patrick Grant one year ago.  He was freed of charges of dangerous harm and burglary after police lost the case file.  Well, he won’t be free for much longer. Police told us today that they will re-arrest him as soon as they find him.

Southside Commander Chester Williams set the record straight today saying that the case file wasn’t missing at all, they just had to follow the DPP’s directives in this case.

ACP Chester Williams - Commander of Southside Police
"Well the charges were indeed dropped yesterday at the magistrate’s court but be reminded that he was charged with an indictable offense and therefore we will be arresting and charging him with those offenses. The principle of law is that he had not been placed at peril , in the sense  that a plea has not been taken because of the nature of the offense and therefore we do have the ability to re-arrest him for the offense , and as it relates to what was reported on the news that the police lost the case file, there is no truth to that , the case file was sent to DPP office, the DPP has sent back the file with some directives that must comply with before the preliminary inquiry so the prosecution branch does have the file and what we are doing now is that we are trying to get a final report from the forensic laboratory and once we get that report we will be proceeding to preliminary inquiry where that matter is concerned so Chester Noralez is not off the hook as what was reported yesterday."

"So you are planning to re-arrest him as soon as?"

ACP Chester Williams - Commander of Southside Police
"Yes the directive has been given for him to re-arrest for those matters."

Reporter
"So police are looking for him now?"

ACP Chester Williams - Commander of Southside Police
"Yes."

Noralez is considered wanted tonight, and anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call the police.
