Family Loses Teen To Pre-Chrsitmas Murder
posted (December 28, 2016)

A pre-Christmas murder has shattered another city family. On Friday night after 8:00, 19-year-old David Andrews was gunned down and killed at the corner of Seagull and Raccoon Streets. Andrews had just left his family at a store nearby when 2 men on a motorcycle rode by and shot him 4 times. I went to try and find out why anyone would want young Andrews dead.

Ramona Carcamo - Mother
"He did not like when I worked hard and so he bought me a drink so I could feel good and he only gave me the drink and he left and I never saw him again...(crying)"

An energy drink is the last thing Carcamo got from her son before he was shot and killed.

On Friday night, Carcamo better known as “Mama Chulaâ€￾ was selling food at her usual spot. Her son David Andrews and other relatives were hanging out, keeping her company as she worked. But later on, after Andrews got a call, he told his family he was going to take a drink for a friend nearby on Raccoon street. But instead of hearing his voice around the lane, the family heard gunshots ring out.

Stephanie Andrews - Sister
"We heard about 6 to 7 gunshots and he got shot 4 times."

A couple family members and friends ran down Raccoon street and found Andrews dead in front of this house. Reports are that he was outside with another man when 2 persons on a motorcycle passed by and shot him. His father says if only Andrews hadn’t answered the call, he would still be with them.

Courtney Weatherburne
"Do you think that the person, who called him, set him up and told him to come there, to his death?"

Dwight Andrews - Father
“Definitely he was set up, he was set up, it is plain to be seen, he was just sitting there and is a little kid who trusts everybody, I used to tell him don’t trust anyone, and he would say “dad you always like to say negative things and I say son what is happening today is that Friends betray friends."

And the family is trying to figure out which friend or foe would want him dead. According to Andrews’s sister, he had been threatened before.

Stephanie Andrews - Sister
"We don’t know who it could be because he never spoke, he never said anything, he never said anything all we know is that like a month or so ago, they told one of his friends that David was threatened and we didn’t take it seriously and so we asked him “David did you do anybody anything? and he said no, I did not do nobody nothing. The same night, my mom asked him again when he reached out there, and he raised his hands and said “No, mommy see I can walk the street, I can do anything, I didn’t do anybody nothing so we do not know, we are clueless as to who could have done something like that to him."

"We are still in misbelief some kind of way, like it is a crazy feeling, we never thought we would have this in our family, he was a good person, for him his friends were his life, my mom was his everything, where my mom went, he went; everything was my mom for him."

Andrews’ family says he was shot 4 times – once in the neck, twice in the arm and once in his side. He leaves behind his parents and siblings.
