"Sir, they are saying that Mr. Martinez was intoxicated when he was driving his motorcycle. Do you have such information?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood - Police Press Officer
"Like you rightfully mentioned, we have persons in the area that said that Mr. Martinez was seen socializing somewhere in the vicinity of Central Park in Orange Walk just minutes before he collided into the lamp post. So we are definitely looking at maybe that alcohol may have been a factor in this accident."

As you heard, reports are that Martinez was seen hanging out at Central Park earlier that Friday evening and police are looking at the possibility of alcohol use in this case among other angles. We note that this is the third two-wheeled traffic fatality in the north in a week. First, Giovanni Ayuso was killed on the August Pine Ridge Road last Monday, and then Victor Munoz Alcoser was run over on his bicycle in the Corozal District, and now, this 19 year old has died from the impact of a collision.
