posted (January 24, 2017)
In last night's news, we told you about the Sunday night, Conch Shell Bay murder of Clinton Frazer, aka "Hog". Well last night, there was another shooting on Lindo's Alley, right down the street from Conch Shell Bay, and right near to Frazer's home.

The victim this time is 19 year-old Keimar Nicholas, also known as "Bwee" (Bee Wee). Reports say that he was shot while he was playing basketball on a court which is actually a part of his yard. According to police, Nicholas and 2 friends were on the court when a tall, unknown man rode up, fired several shots at them, and darted out of the area.

Nicholas was injured in the neck, and he had to be rushed into emergency surgery to save his life. Fortunately the doctors at the KHMH were able to treat his wound save his life, and today, they had to perform an additional surgery to stabilize his condition.

Police have since combed the area, and they found this gun and this bike on a nearby street, and they have since arrested and charged one man. He's Enfield Fitzgibbon, and he has been criminally charged, but Nicholas, the young man he is accused of shooting, remains hospitalized.

This evening, we spoke with his mother, and she didn't want to grant any interviews, but did get to speak to a neighbour, who is also one of Nicholas's close friends.

Shaheed Haulze, Neighbor
"I live at Lindo's Alley about 10 years now and from the time I live there, we are like brothers and we grew up together. We talk, we play ball together. He is a good young man. He is strong and active. So whatever condition he is in, he will fight it out."

Daniel Ortiz, 7News
"Tell us what was the condition he arrived in. We understand that he got shot in the neck. Did you managed to talk to the doctors to see what happened, in terms of the injury itself, how is he doing today? We were also told that he may have gone through another surgery this morning."

Shaheed Haulze, Neighbor
"I havent visited Keimar. His mother went in and she visited Keimar and she hasn't talk to me as yet on how he is doing and the situation he is in. But from my belief I know he is a strong man and I know he will fight it out."

Daniel Ortiz, 7News
"Were you around last night when the incident happened?"

Shaheed Haulze, Neighbor
"Actually I was at my neighbor house around the lane and when the incident happened I run around the lane from my neighbor to home and I was shock to see that it is one of my good friends Keimar that got shot."

Daniel Ortiz, 7News
"Did you by any chance see the aftermath in trying to get him help, trying to get him to the hospital?"

Shaheed Haulze, Neighbor
"Yes, his brother pick up him and rushed him to the hospital and that's about it. They rushed him to the emergency and from there hospital took over."

Daniel Ortiz, 7News
"What would cause someone to target Keimar like this?"

Shaheed Haulze, Neighbor
"Well I don't know, but I believe he wasn't the target. So it's an innocent young man that got shot and I believe and I am praying night and day that the shooting stops in this country, because it's not getting better, but worse."

Daniel Ortiz, 7News
"You had Keimar shooting last night and Sunday night you had the Frazers getting injured. Are the residents of Lindo's Alley close to the Conch shell Bay area worried that this may be something that is falling out in your neighborhood or vicinity?"

Shaheed Haulze, Neighbor
"I don't know, but Belize is just getting worse overall."
