A man is battling for his life in the hospital after he was shot at on Western Avenue last night. 25 year old Alrick August was walking down Western Avenue - heading home around 9:00 when a gunman shot him several times. August was hit to the chest, neck and arm. He survived the attack but he is still critical. Today August's younger brother gave us more details about the shooting and Alrick's condition at this time.

"Well those guys came and just shot my brother for no apparent reason, like I'm saying for what did they do it, but my brother isn't a trouble guy like that my brother..yeah, just does his job and follows girls and yeah, my brother won't go shoot people on the street for anybody to kill my brother cold blooded in the street like that, well shoot him because he is critical right now in the hospital, you know what I mean? Yeah"

"What are the doctors saying right now? How is he doing?"

"Well they said like right now he got about 8 shots in the chest, back and neck, he did surgery already, he needs blood right now , they said he must be critical, they are trying to wake him out of a coma."

"So as you said before, you have no idea who would want to target your brother like this, he was just walking home last night right, after he went to see a friend?"

"Yes because he went to see a friend in 3rd world and he was coming and the guys met him from behind and dealt with him, from behind they dealt with him, why didn't they come from in front of him and face him, don't play, face the man after what you did, for no reason they killed my brother. At least they could have come for a man like me, you know what I mean, to say...Hmm, boy."

"You think maybe they went after your brother to try get to you because they couldn't get to you or something like that or you don't know."

"Well I am not even really sure, right now, I'm not even really sure, but I think it is something like that you know what I mean."
Alrick has 4 young children. We will keep following his case.
