BNTU Wants The Government To Re-Register Voters
posted (February 9, 2017)
Last year, the BNTU forced government to introduce transparency reforms with an 11 day strike. And this year, the union is now complaining about that dirty voters' list and the need for re-registration. The BNTU says it is, quote, "tremendously concerned" about voter registration after details became known of, quote, "the wanton distribution of questionable Belizean nationality certificates", end quote.

The BNTU says "democracy has been compromised" and is calling on government to immediately address the clean up of the voters' list through re-registraiton. The union calls on other unions, civil society and the general public to join them in calling for an urgent re-registration exercise.
