A teenager was murdered last night in the city. At 10:00, 17 year old Everald Augustine was shot about 8 times as he rode his bicycle on Aloe Vera Street. Police say that the person who was with Augustine at the time is the one who executed him. Augustin's mother, Ruth Castillo, told us off camera that she doesn't know what happened and has no idea what trouble he was in. Here's what she had to say.

"When was the last time you saw him, It was last night right?"

"Yeah, like last night about after 9pm, he came and put on a shirt. He did have on any shirt and then he says that he will be back in a while and then he left, but I don't understand how he reach that far behind Oleander Street."

"It's Aloe Vera Street or Olivera or Oleander Street?"

"When he left, he didn't mention that he was going to a friend or he did say where he was going?"

"No, he didn't tell me."

"So when did you got the news that your son had been shot?"

"Well I heard the gunshots and like a couple minutes after, my neighbor, she began calling from the end of the lane and said that he got shot and he died. I didn't believe. When I reach at the hospital he was dead for real when I saw him there."

"Police or anybody telling you what they heard or what they understand happened?"

"The police say they don't know anything so far, because it just happened."

"Do you know of any issues or problems he had with anybody for him to be murdered this way?"

"Not that I know of. I don't know of any issue that he had with anybody. Maybe he had, but he hadn't told me, because sometimes they don't want you to worry."

"What are your fondest memory of Everald?"

"He always come in the house and when I start to rail-up, he would laugh at me and he was somebody always happy, always jolly and he always say mom, you worry too much - it's hard, it really hurts, because it's just sudden."
He was shot 4 times to the chest and 4 times to the back. Police have not detained anyone as yet. Augustine is Castillo's 2nd youngest child. Just to note, in mid-February, 21 year old Jason Cortez was shot and he collapsed on the corner of Western and Electric Avenue. Electric Avenue leads right into Aloe Vera Street where last night's murder happened.
