Alleged Child Killer Pleads Guilty To Robbery
posted (March 3, 2017)
The man accused of killing 7 year old Tyler Savery was back in court today, for another criminal offence. 20 year old Jayear Flores was sentenced to one year in prison for theft. In August 2015, Flores was arrested for stealing over $2000 dollars from then 77 year old St. Joseph Parish Church employee, Eric Gilbert Neal. According to Neal, he was leaving the church compound with deposit money, when Flores approached him and tried to take a laptop bag containing $13 hundred and 23 dollars ($1,323) in cash and $865 dollars in cheques from him. Neal fought back and called out for help. One of the Church's office assistants, Michael Caceres heard his call and ran over to help, but Flores still ran off with the bag. Caceres set chase him and caught him, and held him on the ground until police arrived and arrested him.

Due to the overwhelming evidence against him, Flores chose to plea guilty, and was sentenced to one year in prison. This is his first conviction for robbery, but he remains on remand for the murder of 7 year old Tyler Savery and his older cousin Porshan Pipersburgh last November.
