The officer who was named as the person who stole the visas which ended up in Patrick Tillett's client's passports is Immigration Officer Lindsay Wade. He was stationed at the Western Border at the time, and you'll remember that Immigration Officer Mark Tench testified to the Senate saying that their investigation pointed to Wade as the culprit.

Well, Lindsay wade showed up to the Senate yesterday to categorically deny all allegations against him. Here's how he and the Senators battled over the testimony of those who had come before him:

Lindsay Wade
"There isn't any truth about that I didn't remove any visa foils. I don't know Cadafy nor Mr. Milton. I haven't even met Mr. Milton."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Okay so were you questioned about the missing visa foils?"

Lindsay Wade
"This is the first time."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Nobody in the department asked you about it?"

Lindsay Wade
"Never."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Mr. Cano didn't ask you about it?"

Lindsay Wade
"Never."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Leslie?"

Lindsay Wade
"No one. I heard about it through someone else like someone who worked at the border also."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Do you know Mr. Patrick Tillet?"

Lindsay Wade
"No sir. I saw him today."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"And you have no idea, you have never met Mr. Middleton?"

Lindsay Wade
"I have never spoken to him before today."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Not him but Mr. Middleton."

Lindsay Wade
"Neither."

Hon. Eamon Courtenay
"And of course your evidence is that you are not the one."

Lindsay Wade
"No sir I don't even know Mr. Middleton. You can bring him here and he can attest to that."

Hon. Eamon Courtenay
"Sir this statement we initiated an investigation and discovered that immigration officer L Wade had removed the 8 visa foils from the office."

Lindsay Wade
"There isn't any truth to that sir."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"The understanding that I got was that when they got to Tillet and found out that Mr. Middleton was involved. They got to Middleton pointed the finger at somebody in Corozal."

Lindsay Wade
"Mr. Middleton doesn't know me. If you bring him here today, he can't identify me. I don't know him either. When the allegations broke probably a month after December, I made it my business to find out who is Mr. Middleton and he told me on the phone that he didn't mention my name to Mr. Tench so I don't know why I'm here today. I guess you need to bring Mr. Middleton here."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"But maybe you can help us, do you know his first name?"

Lindsay Wade
"No sir. I don't even know his first name. I don't know how he looks."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"So how did you get his number?"

Lindsay Wade
"I had someone from Corozal find him for me, because if you had allegations break out about you, you would like to know who said it. The person told me that there was a guy named Mr. Middleton who said that I gave him some visas for sale, so I made it my business to find out who is Mr. Middleton."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"So you just called your friend in Corozal and told him to find a Mr. Middleton?"

Lindsay Wade
"No."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"How did you find out who Mr. Middleton is?"

Lindsay Wade
"The person found out for me. The person told me that Mr. Middleton was the brother of someone who worked at immigration and that's from there."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"The brother of whom?"

Lindsay Wade
"Another Mr. Middleton, he used to work with us."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"You realize that they are saying that you stole the visas right?"

Lindsay Wade
"Someone is saying that I stole visas, but when, were, how?"

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"I understand that, but because you're the person that's being accused of this...?"

Lindsay Wade
"You should have brought Mr. Middleton here first and he would have told you that he don't know me, then I wouldn't have had to come here today, because I don't know Mr. Middleton. So, any third or second hand information that says I took, issued or sell any visas - that's a lie. While working at the Western border I didn't sell, issued, took any visas while working there. The supervisors issued visas. I didn't get to look at the visas, much more, issued or sell or took."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"The point I was trying to make, I'm not accusing you."

Lindsay Wade
"Yeah, but then you are saying Mr. Middleton say. You should have brought him here first. If he had come here and said I say or he saw me and you come and say Mr. Middleton say, what could I say? But he is not here and I don't know him."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"I understand you are upset, because your name is being call in this. But I'm not being adversarial with you. If you let me finish then you will understand the point."

Lindsay Wade
"Yeah, but I am not standing for any comment that say I stole any visa."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"That is what I am saying to you."

Lindsay Wade
"Exactly that's what you are saying, 'I stole some visa'."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Listen to me, the point I am making that an allegation has been made. I am not saying that you stole the visas. More than one person has said..."

Lindsay Wade
"So why isn't the person here who made the allegations?"

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Can you listen? I'm going to ask the questions. You are going to be ask to answer them."

Lindsay Wade
"You made a statement earlier. That's not a question."

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"This is the question: you are aware that you are being blamed by more than one persons for stealing the visas."

Lindsay Wade
"More than one person, who?"

Hon. Aldo Salazar
"Mr. Tench has said it. Mr. Leslie has said it in his..."

Lindsay Wade
"Mr. Leslie is clearly making a report on what he have heard. Mr. Tench is the only person stating my name."

As you saw, Wade was adversarial with the Senate Committee, and he told them that he called this "Mr. Middleton" after a friend from Corozal managed to get his contact information. The Senate was trying to get his assistance to find "Mr. Middleton", but he refused to identify this friend, maintaining that this friend has nothing to do with this immigration matter.
