Those Who Care for The Aged
posted (March 17, 2017)
For many of you, there is a system or routine to take care of the elderly in your family. Naturally the kids and grandkids take up that responsibility. But not every older person has a caring and willing family - some of them are abandoned and left to struggle through the rest of their lives alone. Other families want to help their loves ones but just don't know how. Well, BTEC's caregiving training should fill that gap for the elderly. Today 39 participants graduated from a 6 week caregiving training. The all got their certificates but it's more than just a piece of paper. The Manager for the Belize Training and Employment Center, Christine Smith told us it's an opportunity to improve the quality of life for the aged.

There will be a series of these trainings. And, there will be another round of trainings tomorrow in Belmopan. Now, a database has been created with the names and contacts for all these participants so if you have or know of an older person who really needs help you can call BTEC at 223 - 0322.
