Road Contract Inked
posted (March 28, 2017)
Drivers who use the Philip Goldson Highway are well aware of the road upgrading works that Cisco Construction has been conducting on the stretch of the road from Ladyville to the Haulover Bridge for the past few months. There's only a few more miles to go before that construction is complete, but the Government has already signed another contract with the company to start working on the section of the road which runs from Haulover Bridge to the Buttonwood Bay Boulevard Roundabout.

A press release from the Government of Belize says that the contract is worth almost 20.9 million dollars, and it's called Section B of the Fifth Road Project.

The actual signing of the contract happened today in Belmopan, where Works Minister Rene Montero discussed a few of the features that this part of the project will bring. Here's what he had to say:

Works will commence immediately, and the project will be implemented by the Ministry of Works' Project Execution Unit. Beca International Consultants from New Zealand will provide technical supervision.
