One year and one day after Edgar Aldana was killed, police charged the man who they believe did it. Yesterday, 23 year old Marlon Padilla from Selena village in the Cayo district was charged for chopping Aldana to death.
At 3:00 on the morning of April second, 2016, Aldana and a friend were at home in Selena drinking when two men pulled up. One of them pulled out a machete and chopped Aldana and his friend in the head. Aldana bled out and died on the spot, while his friend survived.
