Police Gathering Statements In Placencia Double Traffic Fatality
posted (April 4, 2017)
Police have not levied any charges in the double fatality that happened on the Placencia Road on Sunday. And that's because the driver, 24 year old Sandra Martinez remains in the hospital recovering from her injuries. So does her young son, who was one of the passengers.

She has been served with a notice of intended prosecution, and is expected to face charges for causing death by careless conduct and manslaughter by negligence for the deaths of 14 year old Waresi Flores and 18 year old Deshawn Milddleton.

Police have also started to record statements from those passengers who have been released from the hospital. If they wish to bring court action, Martinez could face other charges.

Martinez was driving the black Ford Ranger that flipped off the Placencia Road at mile 4 on Sunday afternoon. 14 persons were crammed into the pan and the cab of the tiny pickup. All of them were flung out on impact.
