Near Simultaneous Southside Shootings
posted (April 4, 2017)
There were two, virtually simultaneous shootings in the city last night. The first occurred around 9:30 when 28-year-old Jeffery Martinez was shot in front of his yard on Jane Usher Boulevard near the BTL tower. He was hit to the left side of the abdomen, the right elbow and the right leg. Martinez was rushed to the KHMH where he is critical. No one has been arrested.

And about 10 minutes later 24-year-old Reese Riverol and 27-year-old Joseph Rowland were shot as they rode a motorcycle from Pelican Street to Raccoon Street. An SUV drove up on them and opened fire from behind. Riverol had gunshot wounds to his right ankle and Rowland was seen with cuts and abrasions on both legs. Both men were listed as stable.
