Southside Commander Will Head Professional Standards Branch
posted (April 5, 2017)

And the one who seems to have gotten swept out in that housecleaning is ACP Chester Williams. He was initially slated for the prosecution branch, but now he's going to the Professional Standards Branch. That's a department widely perceived by the public to be a waste of time - and Williams has earned a reputation for being no nonsense and results oriented.  So how is he going to fare in that dead end unit?  The Minster says, he'll invigorate it:

Hon. Elodio Aragon - Minister of State, Home Affairs
"People might say why we moving Chester to professional standards branch. I could tell you Jules that is a critical, an important aspect of policing right now and we need somebody that go there and get the job done for us. It's about cleaning house, it's about dealing with corrupt police officers, it is about having a commander that will ensure that every complaint against police is looking in thoroughly and dealt with."

Jules Vasquez
"But isn't it also a repudiation of what has evolved as the Southside culture of approaching crime? Which is mediation, conciliation, talking, Sunday dinner by gang members, this sort of thing, this soft approach."

Hon. Elodio Aragon
"Mediation is an important aspect of policing you know very important aspect and that will not diminish. We have Ms. Phillips that is here, we have police officers who understand that. This morning we had mediation taking place here at Racoon Police Station. I have spoken to Chester Williams in regards to this and he welcomes this idea, he understands the importance of this thing, we have to ensure that we can put the best people in the positions that we have."

The other Eastern Division Commander Edward Broaster is going up to Belmopan take over Operations - which is a very senior post. And the former North side sub commander, Sr. Supt. Alford Grinage is going to take over the Stand Creek District, and will be promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police.
