PIV Leader On Keeping The Peace
posted (April 5, 2017)
Last night we showed you how the principals of the PIV gang were feeding the homeless on Sunday. It was a most unexpected show of charity and goodwill from a gang that has been linked to violence and turf wars in the Lake Independence area. Those wars caused PIV leader Brandon Battery Smith’s uncle to be killed early this year. So what happened next? Will there be more retaliation? That’s what we asked him on Sunday:

Jules Vasquez
"Now we know Lake-I has seen some of the most violence in the past year and that da because PIV di feud with other gangs - even your uncle was killed in that whole feuding.  Where are we with that now?"

Brandon "Battery" Smith - PIV Boss
"Well, eena life you have to accept loss. When you get eena this you have to learn to understand that certain things will happen. It’s just who could take it. I done take it. My uncle dead. I noh seek back no revenge, I straight."

Jules Vasquez
"Where are we with feuding between PIV and the other groups in the area?"

Brandon "Battery" Smith
"Back there big you have to understand a lot of people back there. Certain wa happen and they wa blame we then da no we. Ih no really matter."

Jules Vasquez
"Now you di seh you change, explain that to me."

Brandon "Battery" Smith
"I noh really change. I slow down."

Jules Vasquez
"Break that down."

Brandon "Battery" Smith
"Well if you could check the news and check back then within now, I slow down a lot. I di try look forward to a better Belize, cause we di goh…"

Jules Vasquez
"Soh like a you gain wah lee maturity eena life you realize.."

Brandon "Battery" Smith
"Yap. That weh you mi di do back then noh mek no kind of sense. And I hope some people learn it faster than me or quicker than me. But, back then, I mi wild.  They wild, I hope they learn.  It noh mek no sense, This noh mek no kind of sense."
