84 Year Old Woman and Son Grazed By Stray Bullets
posted (April 10, 2017)
So, while Earlin Butler Jr. remains hospitalized for that shooting on Sunday morning, about 14 hours later, there was another shooting. This one was on Antelope Street, and in the spray of gunfire, 84-year-old woman Ignacia Alpuche was grazed by a bullet, while her son, Miguel Alpuche, was injured in the right foot.

Alpuche spoke with us today and said that he and his mother were injured by the gunshots which penetrated their upstairs home, but which were fired from down the street. He told us that he and his family were sitting in their living room last night. They were having a small memorial at the house for his father who had passed away. He said that their door was open, and they heard the sound of gunshots outside on one the street.

He said he didn't even realize that he was hit by one of the gunshots to his right foot. Alpuche said that he got up and realized that floor was stained with blood, and that's when he realized what happened. He said that his intention was not to tell his 84-year-old mother that he was injured because she didn't want to scare her. She suddenly voiced her distress that she was injured in the back, but it turns out that the bullet only grazed her.

But, while this family came very close to the dangerous shooting, it appears that nobody from their home was the target. Reports are that the unknown gunmen were chasing after a target who ran down the street in the direction of their house. Those assailants let loose a wild spray of bullets which penetrated the home of the Alpuche family, injuring Miguel Alpuche and grazing his mother.
