Cops Investigate Purported Arson At Principal’s Office
posted (April 12, 2017)

Last night, we told you about the fire at the Ladyville RC School, where as much as $30,000 in equipment was lost.

The Principal says that it was arson. Today, we asked the Officer Commanding Rural Eastern Division told us what they know so far:

Daniel Ortiz
"The principal has told the press that investigation suggests that this is arson. Can you confirm for us and share with us what direction your investigation is leading to?"

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Rural Eastern Division
"I cannot confirm that at this time as we have not gotten the report from the fire department as it related to their investigation into that issue at this time."

Daniel Ortiz
"What are you able to share with us in addition to what happened there sir?"

ACP Edward Broaster
"Just as you said that there was a fire there and the fire department responded and put out the fire. It took them a little while to gain entry but they did and their investigating the matter."

Daniel Ortiz
"Do the Ladyville Police Station officers interact with Ladyville RC on a regular basis sir? Would you be able to share with us the relationship that may have developed over the years?"

ACP Edward Broaster
"Yes the Ladyville - as a matter of fact Ladyville RC school has a barcode and it was when the officers were going to do their check that they discovered the fire. Any disaster as such is unfortunate like you rightly said. While the resources will now be to rebuild office for the principal it could have been utilising maybe constructing another classroom or what have you but I'm sure friends of Ladyville will look into that situation and deal with it."

The Principal told us that the school has also suffered due to burglaries in the past. They are hoping that members of the public will help in the replacement of all that was lost in the fire
