But the water taxi's cannot just be counting heads and money - that also have to keep a close eye on safety. In fact, everyone does. Whatever travel plans are, the authorities are hoping that you will stay safe, and avoid unnecessary risks.

Too often, the Easter Weekend is plagued by fatal traffic accidents or drownings. So, BERT urges you to enjoy while staying safe. BERT's lead trainer shared a few tips to make your vacation a safe one. Here they are:

Javier Canul, BERT
"Since it's the Easter vacation, I just want to give some words of caution and some word of advice to different people all over the country - if you are travelling on the highways, they need to make sure they stay off their cell phones. It's important that you stay off your cell phones until you reach where you are going. Make sure you are not drinking and driving. If you drink make sure you don't swim and if you swim don't go by yourself. The weather is very hot these days and because of that we need to rehydrate. It's funny that we find a hard time drink a one liter bottle of water, but yet we could drink up to 8-9 Guinness which would be more than a liter of water or even an elephant foot [liter of rum]. So we want to ask people to be careful during these holidays. Safety is the number priority - wear your seatbelt all the time. Make sure you know the number for BERT, because that is important, especially if you are on the highway. The number is 223-3292. If you call that number you will have us directly and we would be able to respond to you immediately."
