Lino Turns Up Dead: Was The Hunter Hunted?
posted (April 21, 2017)
Tonight, a 45 year old hunter from Progresso Village is dead and his family is questioning the circumstances of his death. 45 year old Baltazar Lino was found dead after he went on a week long hunting trip near his farm a couple miles away from his village.

But, after some days, his dogs returned but he didn't. That's when his family went looking for him and they found his decomposing body face down in a well yesterday. Police are investigating, but he family says that his neck had a telling scratch which they believe came from a jaguar:...

Jacobo Catzim, Brother of the Deceased
"My little brother and another man went out to search for him. They found in face down in a well about 5 feet deep. His body was decomposing. The next day my brother took the police to that location and they saw a large scratch on his neck, but they couldn't tell where it came from. The scars though were in the shape of a jaguar's claw."

Police have not yet issued a statement on the body found. The police have told the family that his body had likely been there three to four days.

His body was found between Caledonia and Progresso which is an area known to have jaguars - but there are very few cases worldwide where jaguars are known to have attacked humans. We'll have more on this next week.
