Today in the Magistrate's Court, Honduran national, Jose Gomez, was found guilty of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. According to the minor's testimony, in December 2014, Gomez entered her home in Burrell Boom and began to caress her. When she started to scream, Gomez allegedly fled.
Gomez failed to appear in court today, but the trial was still held in his absence. Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith found Gomez guilty of the charge and sentenced him to 5 years in prison. If and when police find him, he will go directly to jail to serve that sentence.
