In February, Defense Minister John Saldivar started a countrywide tour of all the Coast Guard facilities and forward operating bases.
Just like he did with the BDF, he went along with the Coast Guard Commander. The idea was get a first-hand experience of the facilities, to see which the ones are in a state of disrepair, and in need of urgent attention.
They finally completed the tour yesterday with a two-day trip through the Northern Sector. The Commandant of the Coast Guard spoke with Ministry's Press Officer about it:
