Another Ladyville Gas Station Robbed
posted (May 12, 2017)
Three weeks ago, on April 27th, we told you about an armed robbery at at the "24/7 Gas Station" right at the Lords Bank Junction in Ladyville. Well there was another robbery in that same village last night - but, this time, it happened at the Puma Gas Station - which is about one and a half miles north of the last robbery. I went to the Station today and got a first hand account:..

Kirk Cadle, Pump Attendant
"I the tell he I don't have no phone, I no have nothing then I see him biting his lip so I holler "I will get shot"."

Courtney Weatherburne reporting
18 year old Kirk Cadle was preparing for the worst when a gunman charged at him and his night shift crew at the PUMA Gas Station in Ladyville.

Only a few seconds of the holdup was caught on the surveillance camera. After that vehicle drives off you see the gunman's leg as he steps back. Nothing much is seen after that until

He walks backwards wielding his gun, he then walks forward again, takes a phone from one of the guys, fires and dashes away. That bullet hit civilian Ray Peters also known as "DADS" in his left arm, and left its imprint in the wall.

Kirk Cadle, Pump Attendant
"My back was turned because I was going inside then I turn then I saw the silver and black gun , so I say well he the play because the gun looked like a BB gun but then he came in front of us and asked us for the money so then we told him the money was inside but he say you lie to we and I say the money is inside then he say just give me what uno have but my phone was in my pocket and I am giving him hard time because I want him to come for my phone but then, but then next young man already gave his phone then he came to me with the gun."

"I set the phone in his hand and I was still holding it and then when I let it go I step down from off of this with one leg and then I see him dress back so I thought I was going to get shot but then when, when he walk way he shot the next young man at the end."

"When I hear the POW, I didn't think the gun was real until I hear the POW."

After it all, the gunman snatched Cadle's $1,800 IPHONE, a $2 bill and another co-workers $450 HTC phone.

But this isn't the first time that the PUMA Gas station has been targeted. According to another pump attendant Eustace Pate, the gas station has been held up two times since he has been there. He was also held up at gunpoint in one instance and then in the other case, his boss was shot in the chest.

Eustace Pate, Pump Attendant
"That was like, I would say about 4 or 3 years ago he was inside but they just I don't know they look like they were aiming at him or it was for him they were coming at because they just came right in, well dealt with the gas station and then just shot him."

"To all of us this job really needs to be looked into because there aren't any safety, how to say it, safety procedures, or regulations for this job."

That is why the pump attendants have been calling on the management to hire a security guard specifically during the night shift. Supervisor Nigel Freeman says it something they have been looking into.

Courtney Weatherburne
"Are there any other measures that you all plan on putting in for example hiring a security guard during the night shift?"

Nigel Freeman, Supervisor
"That has been discussed, it has been discussed the boss is yet to decide exactly what he will be doing, for sure we will be upgrading our surveillance system so that we better capture events like this in the future."

The standard practice at this and other gas stations is that attendants do not keep cash on them, but turn it over to the office where it is kept in a safe.

Police don't have any suspects detained at this time - and no one was charged for the last robbery.
