Last night, we told you about the jury deliberating the fate of 53 year-old Pastor Fidel Lanza. He was accused of of causing death by careless conduct for driving over 3 year-old Ray-ja-knee McFadzean in his bus on December 9, 2011.
Well, after 3 hours of deliberation, the jury of 9 unanimously agreed that he was "not guilty", and with that, he was set free.
The 3-year-old was walking with her brother in Double Head Cabbage Village, when the bus knocked her down. Lanza gave a dock statement saying that he was driving 5 miles per hour. He said that he didn't know that the child was under the front wheel of the bus until he heard screaming, which when he stopped the bus.
The prosecution was represented by Crown Counsel Sherigne Rodriguez, while Lanza was represented by attorney Leeroy Banner.
