ACP Chester Williams - Commander, Southside Police
"Last night, sometime after 10pm thereabout police were called to the corner of Central American Boulevard and I think Augustus Street where on arrival they came across one Hammon Lemot who was suffering from apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to the KHMH and there he underwent surgery last night. He is currently listed in the hospital in a stable condition-in a critical condition."

"Has there been any kind of motive discovered for that shooting? Was he the target because I spoke to his mom earlier today and he said that he was in the process of trimming someone's hair so they're not really certain if that was the target or if it was wrongful shooting."

ACP Chester Williams
"From what we have been bringing together is that he may have received threats from some individual the day before and I want to say this to the general public. In today's era if you receive threats from anybody please take it seriously and come to the police. Often times when people are shot and injured or killed, we hear after that they were getting threats. If these threats would come to us before, then we can step in, do interventions and see how we can prevent the threats from being carried through. It has saved lives to. When there's threats are brought to us after the fact, we can do little about it, you know. So, I want to ask the public that whenever they receive threats from anybody please take it seriously and let the police know so we can address the issue."

Reporter
"Have you been able to detain the person or find out who made those threats to Lemot?"

ACP Chester Williams
"Yes we have that person in custody since last night and he's been interviewed. We have not been able to ascertain a motive as to why Lemot was shot. We still cannot definitively say that the person who made the threats is the one who carried out the act. Investigation is still ongoing."

Lemoth is currently in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
