Tanya Carter is one of Belize's most well-known international performers, who has touched stages all over the world with her hits such as "Ex Boyfriend". But last night in Belize City at around 8:00, all that fame and international renown didn't matter to a trio of thieves who were on the prowl. According to reports, she was walking on St. Thomas Street when the trio of men pounced, and held her up at gunpoint. They stole over a thousand dollars in cash, and drove off in a car. But, in an unexpected turn, the car ran out of gas not long after. Police found the car, and traced it back to the men at a Southside address. That's where the police arrested all three and recovered eight hundred dollars. Turns out, they HAD also tried to rob another female in the area around the same time, but she ran off. Tomorrow, they are expected to be arraigned on charges of robbery and attempted robbery. Carter told us that she didn't want to comment.
