According to the particulars presented in court, between February and April of this year, Padilla allegedly stole 3,033 light meters from BEL, valued at $177,000 dollars. He allegedly broke the meters open and salvaged the valuable parts inside. No plea was taken and Padilla was denied bail because it has not yet been decided if the offence will be tried summarily or on indictment. Padilla was remanded into custody until July. Police have not reported on where this allegedly happened.
