Yellowman Apologised
posted (June 14, 2017)

Brian Yellowman Audinett will keep his job as Mace-bearer in the House of Representatives.  This is after the Staff committee of the House met on Friday to consider his actions in the Senate on Wednesday May 17th.

With 5 in favour, and two against, the Committee voted down the call for a dismissal, and called instead for a reprimand.  The terms of that reprimand are that Yellow man had to call and apologize to media personnel he attacked: namely Marisol Amaya form KREM, and Circillo Choco from Plus TV.  He had already called Dennis Ellis from Channel 7 to apologize.

So who voted in favour, and who against?  Well, the Speaker of the House who chairs the committee voted in favour of his dismissal as did PUP Representative Florencio Marin, Jr.. Those against his dismissal were UDP parliamentarians: John Saldivar, Patrick Faber and Michael Peyrefitte, and Senate President Lee Mark Chang, along with a National Assembly staff member who sits on the committee.

National Assembly Clerk Eddie Webster initiated and supervised Yellowman’s apology calls to Amaya and Choco.

Amaya told us he said he understands that the media is off limits and reacted in the moment, which he should not have done it and it won't be repeated.  She heard him out but did not say she accepted the apology.  She indicate that she is more interested in whether he is also banned from attending the Senate Special Select Committee meetings - which was requested by the media.  She says she is asking for the committee to put its decision on that in writing.
