And Shyne Barrow has also agreed to sponsor a full music scholarship to the recently opened Saint John's College School of Music. Its only one scholarship per year, but it will earn a deserving musical a placement and an associate's degree. Shyne told us about the first recipient:â€Â¦

"This is a scholarship for those who need the financial assistance and have the talent so really it's a combination of the need for financial assistance and the enormous talent. The young man that is the recipient of the first Shyne Barrow full scholarship is Deron Flowers, he's actually from the alma mater Wesley College and the way the scholarship came about is I was talking to the president Ms. Peralta and she mentioned this young man who was so fantastic and the professors were so amazed by his talent but we don't know if he is going to be able to attend because he just doesn't have the money to attend. He's actually coming out of the school of Samuel Haynes institute, I learned from the foreign minister yesterday that he had went to seek financial assistance from the foreign minister but I on the spot said you know let's create the Shyne Barrow full scholarship."
The scholarship is valued at $5,200 dollars.
