And Williams says those gang interventions have a direct connection to this calm on the Southside. He told us more about this program and how it is helping at risk youth and gang members start a new life off the streets .

"The gang intervention programme is an ongoing thing, we continue to remain in dialogue with the different elements and again the objective there is to see how we can work with them to be able to put aside their personal differences. We have seek employment for some of them with CITCO, they are gainfully employed and making an honest pay for them to maintain themselves and their family and we want to see that continue."
