Contraband-it Crashes While Running From Customs
posted (June 20, 2017)
Last night we told you about Froyland Peralta, the 69 year old San Antonio Villager who drowned after his ford Ranger pickup truck accidentally rolled into the Rio Hondo. It happened in Santa Cruz village, right across from Botes, Mexico, which is one of the most trafficked illegal contraband crossings.

And, again this morning the perils of contraband trafficking were exposed when a Ford Ranger pickup truck, fleeing from Customs, crashed into a parked vehicle, also a Ranger. It happened in August Pine Ridge where the driver of the Ranger was fleeing at high speeds, and throwing away tomatoes so Customs wouldn't catch him with the contraband. But, he lost control and crashed into the parked pickup near the bus stop.

So, because most of the contraband cargo was thrown away, Customs only managed to get four cases of cabbages and onions. The driver who is from Orange Walk, was fined and settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.
